Brief description:

The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is targeted to high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in the US and who are dedicated to positive civic and social change. It is intended for students who will be to returning home to improve under-resourced, underserved communities in his/her home country.

The scholarships are targeted to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The AU EGL scholarship covers all billable AU expenses (full tuition, room and board). The scholarship does not cover non-billable expenses such as mandatory health insurance, books, airline tickets and miscellaneous expenses (approximately U.S. $4,000).

It is renewable for a total of four years of undergraduate study, based on continued satisfactory academic performance.

Eligibility:

Preference will be given to:

  1. International students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  2. A minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent (or in the top 10% of graduating class) for 9th-12th grades.
  3. A demonstrated commitment to leadership, volunteerism, community service and to advancing the needs of people in their home country.
  4. Students with a 95+ TOEFL iBT, 7.0+ IELTS, 600+ paper-based TOEFL (taken on or prior to May 31, 2017), or sub-scores of 24+ on the paper-based TOEFL (Taken after 31 May 2017).
  5. Students who are still enrolled in secondary/high school and graduating by June 2019.
  6. Important: Students in the IB system should plan to graduate with a full IB diploma with at lease 3 HL subjects. Students studying in the British A-Levels system must complete at least 3 A levels and finish 13 years of study before August 2019.

You are NOT eligible to apply if:

– You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or dual citizen of the U.S. and another country.

– You are enrolled in or have already begun any post-secondary studies at another university in your home country or the United States.

– You graduated secondary school earlier than 2017.

EDISU Piemonte Scholarships
Students including non-EU international students enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Single Cycle Master’s degree, or PhD Degree courses at one of the Universities of Piedmont (i.e. The Politecnico of Torino, the University of Torino, the University of Eastern Piedmont) can apply for EDISU scholarships if they meet the merit and economic requirements of the competition. Part-time students can apply if enrolled in a bachelor’s degree. The scholarship amount varies depending on many conditions. Accommodation service can also be granted to non-resident students.

Politecnico de Milano Merit-Based Scholarships for International Students
Every year, Politecnico di Milano offers a number of merit based scholarships to the most talented international candidates admitted to a Master of Science programme. The Swedish Institute (SI) is now launching the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), a new scholarship programme which replaces Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS).

The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programmes, and is only awarded for programmes starting in the autumn semester. The scholarship is granted for one academic year (two semesters) at a time. It will be extended for programmes longer than two semesters, provided that the student has passed his/her courses/credits.

The scholarship period cannot be changed or extended beyond the awarded scholarship period, nor can the scholarship be transferred to a study programme other than the awarded master’s programme.

2. Colin Matheson Scholarships for Master Degree at the University of West Minister, UK 2019.
The university of West Minister is currently accepting applications for the Colin Matheson scholarship. This fully funded scholarship is open to international students of eligible developing countries who will be undertaking Masters Degree at the University. The closing date of application is May every year.
The university of Westminster’s scholarships program was established by Colin Matheson. The Colin Matheson scholarship covers full tuition fee award, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London. Students can do their Masters degree in all subjects. 3. Marshall Papworth Scholarships for Developing Countries Students in UK 2019.
This scholarship provides opportunities for students from developing countries to gain the agricultural skills needed to achieve a sustainable future for themselves and there communities through Teo scholarship programs: Masters program – A one year Master’s degree in agriculture or horticulture at a UK based university ; Marshall Papworth 10-weeks short course, a 10-week practical and experimental course to empower change makers in rural communities. The scholarship varies from £14,500 to £21,500 depending on location and chosen university college as determined by the Marshall committee.
As an agricultural charity, land-based Postgraduate courses are favored, including sustainable development, waste management and international Horticulture. However, more general courses such as Project Management and Economic Development are considered. Applications for Master scholarships are made directly to one partner university/college.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Your Qualifications:
– MSc or PhD degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science or equivalent
– Strong background in machine learning (graphical models, Bayesian and neural networks), statistics, and preferably causal inference methods;
– Knowledge of and/or experience with time-series data, preferably clinical data;
– Programming expertise in Python, R, and SQL;
– Interest and/or experience in working with healthcare problems (particularly surgical procedures);
– Demonstrated skill in scientific writing;
– Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons and engineers.
– Experience with healthcare data and building real-world systems is a plus.
